New Chapter for the Harrison County Board of Supervisors

Today’s primary elections start to turn the page to a new chapter for the Harrison County Board of Supervisors.
Districts 1, 2 and 4 will have new supervisors in January because the supervisors currently in those seats chose not to run for re-election. District 3’s Marlin Ladner won’t face his lone Democratic opponent until November. Board President Connie Rockco is running unopposed.
“I’m excited about it,” said Rockco, “You know, every time there’s change, it’s a good thing, I think. Because it has fresh ideas and new life. Of course, there’s wisdom attached to the old folks like us that will hopefully be accessed while they’re making those decisions. But, I remember when I first got elected, I was so excited and we need that excitement from time to time.”
Connie Rockco and Marlin Ladner have both been on the board since 1999.
