Negotiations for SRHS sale terminated
The Jackson County Board of Supervisors and the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System have made the joint decision to terminate ongoing discussions on the potential sale of Singing River Health System.
This comes after months of negotiations, after FMOLHS was chosen as the preferred buyer for SRHS.
Both parties held negotiations, but a consensus could not be reached.
Ken Taylor, the Jackson County Board president, said the board is committed to finding the ideal partner to fulfill SRHS’ long-term objectives.
Laruin St. Pe, the interim CEO of Singing River Health System, says the primary focus of Singing River is the well-being of patients and the communities on the coast.
St. Pe says Singing River will continue to work with the Board of Supervisors to achieve long-term goals.
The CEO and president of FMOLHS said the Jackson County Board of Supervisors and SRHS have been engaging and committed to delivering health care to the people of the Gulf Coast.
