NCBC hosting Change of Command
The Naval Construction Battalion Center in Gulfport will host a change of command Friday, July 28th at 10 a.m.
Captain Jeffrey Powell is retiring from the United States Navy after 28 years of service. He served as the commanding officer of NCBC for the last three years, reporting for duty in August 2020.
The new commander is Captain Ana Franco and she is familiar with the Gulf Coast area. This will be Captain Franco’s third time being deployed in Gulfport.
She first served as the chief staff officer for the 7th Naval Construction Regiment in Gulfport from 2014 to 2016.
Captain Franco then assumed duty as the commanding officer of Naval Construction Training Center Gulfport from 2016 to 2018.
She currently serves in the officer of chief of naval operations and serves as the infrastructure and facilities program manager in the readiness branch.
