NCAA Baseball: Ole Miss vs. Southern Miss

On Tuesday night, Southern Miss and Ole Miss played a no contest due to unplayable field conditions with USM leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth at Trustmark Park in Pearl.

“It’s the right thing. It’s disappointing, obviously, for both teams to come all this way, to get this deep into a game, have this many fans here and not play, so obviously there’s a lot of disappointment around for everybody,” said Ole Miss head baseball coach Mike Bianco.

“It was pretty evident that this thing could get pretty bad, and we both have a lot of season left, and certainly, we don’t need to get somebody hurt because of that,” said Southern Miss head baseball coach Scott Berry.

Both teams hit the road for their respective three-game weekend series starting Friday.
