Naval Construction Battalion Center holding exercise drill this week
GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- If you see increased emergency activity around the Naval Construction Battalion Center Gulfport this week, there’s no cause for alarm.
The base is holding a major security training exercise starting Monday and running through the 17th. Active drills are scheduled July 14 through the 16.
Nearby residents may notice emergency vehicles with lights and sirens, public address announcements, and temporary traffic delays near the installation.
Officials say the exercise is designed to test security, fire, and emergency response capabilities and is part of routine training, not a response to any specific threat.
