National Transportation Safety Board press conference on investigation
The National Transportation Safety Board is in Biloxi conducting an investigation into yesterday’s wreck.
They held a press conference at noon today in Biloxi, trying to determine if the bus charter company, Echo Transportation, had a recommended route for its trip to South Mississippi and if the driver took that preferred company route.
The investigation is expected to take up to one week. NTSB Member Robert Sumwalt said, “They’ll be documenting the intrusion in to the bus. They’ll be trying to document the seat location to see why certain injuries were a certain way while other injuries were different.”
Once the investigation is complete, the NTSB could make recommendations such as closing that intersection or making a gradual rise and fall slope at the intersection.
