National Seabee Day

Gulf Coast Navy Week wrapped up this weekend with Seabee Day on Saturday, celebrating Seabees and their presence here on the Gulf Coast for 75 years.
The event took place at the Naval Battalion Center and offered musical guests, games, and more. Kids had the chance to interact with Seabee divers and even witnessed a staged convoy all while enjoying tasty Gulf Coast meals. Naval Construction Battalion Center Executive Officer Ronald Jenkins said, “The Seabees are a part of the expeditionary force. If you notice we wear typically green camo uniforms. They’re learning about folks that don’t necessarily go out on ships every day, but are a very important part of the Navy.”
The free event also offered carnival rides for the kids.
