National Science Foundation helps Ole Miss

The University of Mississippi will soon be hosting the state’s first fabrication tool that enables researchers to design and create structures on a nano scale, opening the door to collaborations in Mississippi and across the region.

This is all thanks to a $673,000 National Science Foundation Major Research Instrumentation Grant funding the purchase of a nanofrazor explore, which is a tool that can write nanoscale and microscale patterns.

The tool will support ongoing research groups in chemistry, physics, and engineering enabling projects ranging from drug delivery systems to wireless microheaters and renewable energy.
