National Red Ribbon Week
Students at Three Rivers Elementary School in Gulfport said ‘no’ to drugs in a magical way today.
Schools throughout the Harrison County School District are recognizing ‘National Red Ribbon Week’ through themed costume days and discussions on how to make healthy lifestyle choices.
Today’s theme was ‘It’s magical to be drug free’ and students, along with their teachers, rocked their Mickey and Minnie ears, as well as other Disney-related costumes.
Three Rivers Instructional Literacy Coach Jamie Boyer says kids enjoy the themed days. “The kids are just excited and it’s just to get them to, for us to promote drug free awareness and to get the kids excited and help them make good choices.”
‘National Red Ribbon Week’ kicked off on October 23rd and ends at the end of the month.
