National Police Week

Officer McKeithen lost his life one week before the start of National Police Week which starts today and runs through Sunday.

McKeithen was the fifth fallen officer in the Biloxi Police Department’s history. We take time to honor the memory of the other four today:

  • Officer Emery Wilson who was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1970.
  • Officer David Higginbotham who died back in 1972.
  • Animal Control Officer Nathan Mitchell who was hit by a train while trying to catch a dog in March 2001.
  • Lieutenant Michael Meaut who was also killed while working as a Biloxi police officer.
