National HIV Testing Day

Recent statistics rate Mississippi as the ninth highest HIV diagnosis rate in the country.
Today is National HIV Testing Day and the Mississippi State Department of Health reminds Mississippians that getting tested is the first step in preventing the spread of HIV.
Over one million people are living with the disease today and only one in eight people don’t know they have it.
Testing enables individuals with HIV to become aware of their status and get immediate access to medical care and treatment.
