National Caregivers Day: Honoring caregivers on the Mississippi Gulf Coast

Today is National Caregivers Day, honoring their dedication to their patients. WXXV News 25’s Jordyn Lassiter highlights two amazing caregivers on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. 

Liz Hoop has been a caregiver since 2017 and now operates Hoop Cares LLC, a home healthcare service. She says her love for people is the motivation for her work. 

At Sea Shore Highlands Retirement Community, Rolanda Cain is one of the many amazing caregivers on their staff. 

Being a caregiver can be a challenging role. To be extraordinary and go above and beyond, one must have qualities such as “a lot of patience” Rolanda says. 

Caregivers are the unsung heroes who offer their time and compassion as they are their patients’ family away from family.
