National Adopt a Pet From a Shelter Day: Jackson County Animal Shelter

JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV) – April 30th is National Adopt a Pet From a Shelter Day. The Jackson County Animal Shelter in Gautier is consistently at 90 to 95% capacity due to the number of animals in their shelter.

Jackson County urges residents to consider their local shelter when looking to add an addition to their home. Adopting a pet is a win-win situation: You gain a loving companion, and the animal gets a chance at a happy, fulfilling life. 

Though this day marks National Adopt a Pet Day, it’s every day of the year that animals in shelters are waiting to find their forever family.
