Naloxone vending machine unveiled at Singing River Gulfport
GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- Singing River Hospital Gulfport held a ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil its new naloxone vending machine.
This machine expands community access to life-saving opioid overdose reversal medication.
Hospitals officials said the free, 24/7 access machine was installed outside the emergency room to ensure the community can act quickly during emergencies.
The initiative was developed in partnership with several public health organizations, reflecting a shared commitment to removing barriers to critical resources.
The machine dispenses naloxone along with educational materials that help the public recognize symptoms and respond effectively.
Leaders say the installation builds on growing the regional network designed to support communities on the front lines of the opioid crisis.
The new access point strengthens ongoing efforts to save lives across the Coast.
