Museum showcasing George County, Lucedale history opens

Some exciting news coming out of George County, a museum detailing the history of Lucedale and surrounding areas is officially open.

The Lucedale-George County Historical Society opened the museum at 1 on February 7

It is located on the first floor of the George County Courthouse and managed by the Lucedale-George County Historical Society.

The museum will be open Tuesday through Thursday each week from 10 AM to 4 PM.

Admission is free but donations are accepted.

The first exhibit will focus on medical, military, and memorabilia related to George County.

A highlight of the first exhibit includes a video from 1955 showing scenes around George County.
