Murder Victim’s Family Seeks More Justice

The man charged with the murder of 20-year-old Trevues Martin is behind bars, held on a $250,000 bond. Martin’s mother says for the amount of pain her family is going through, that’s just not enough.
News 25’s Gina Tomlinson visited the cemetery with her and shares the Martin family’s take on Sunday’s arrest.
Trevues Martin’s brother Tacorey Young said, “I just can’t believe he killed my, Deandre Ball killed by brother.”
Authorities arrested 19-year-old Deandre Ball of Gulfport Sunday. He is charged with the murder of 20-year-old Trevues Martin. Eight-year-old Tacorey Young still cannot understand why his brother’s life was taken the day before his 21st birthday. “It’s been hard because ever since he died, I haven’t been seeing him.”
Trevues Martin was shot in the head and found dead in the front seat of a car in his grandmother’s driveway September 13th. His mother Tatasha Martin says the $250,000 bond that Ball is being held on is not enough. “My son right here is still dead. He did capital murder. I want capital murder. Murder is not enough for him.”
Ball turned himself into the Biloxi Police Department Sunday afternoon. Tatasha Martin says Ball planned to kill her son and says he made a rap song about doing so before the shooting. “I think it’s crazy, you know what I’m saying? For a man’s bond to be that low that premeditated my son’s murder by rapping about it the day before he did it.”
Tatasha Martin tells News 25 that one time she went to the cemetery, had a break down and tried to unbury her son’s dead body. She says the only thing giving her comfort is the frequent visits from Trevues’ friends. “My son is glad he is in jail. My family’s glad he is in jail, but we are not happy with the bond.”
Gulfport police say they have no details to release at this time.
