Murder-Suicide in Gulfport
Two people are dead in Gulfport after a murder-suicide this afternoon.
Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove says the victims were an adult male and an adult female.
Around 5:38 this afternoon, the Gulfport Fire Department was responding to a separate call when they were flagged down by an individual who told authorities two people appeared dead inside of a car on 30th Avenue and 20th Street.
Upon further investigation, authorities learned the cause of death was by gunshot wounds. “It’s a murder-suicide from a gunshot wound. The names will not be released until later. We may not release it at that point either. We have determined that it is a murder-suicide and they are related,” said Hargrove.
The two were found inside of a red Toyota Camry.
While the investigation is ongoing, Gulfport Police Chief Leonard Papania says there are no outstanding suspects.
