Municipal elections coming up in 2025
Municipal elections will be held for most cities in South Mississippi in 2025.
And candidates already are declaring their intention to run — even though the first day of qualifying isn’t until January 2nd.
Here are the dates you’ll need to know for the 2025 elections:
- Jan. 2 — Qualifying begins.
- Jan. 31 — Qualifying deadline at 5 p.m.
- March 3 — Voter registration deadline
- April 1 — Primary elections
- April 22 — Primary election runoff
- June 3 — General election
- July 1 — New term begins
As for candidates, although no one can file qualifying documents until Jan. 2, candidates have already starting declaring their intentions on social media.
