Multiple gatherings held across the Coast in honor of National Day of Prayer
GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)-South Mississippians gathered in multiple places Thursday for community prayer and reflection.
At Jones Park in Gulfport, a large service was held to mark National Day of Prayer.
Civic leaders, religious leaders, and members of the public sang hymns and participated in group prayer to pray for the country and communities.
This year is also special because it marks the 75th year of National Day of Prayer nationwide.
In all, a total of nine official prayer events were held across the six South Mississippi counties.
