Mullet and Music Festival reeled in schools of people in Gautier

Gautier’s biggest festival returned to the grounds of the old Singing River Mall property.

The annual Mullet and Music Festival celebrates the city’s rich fishing heritage and features live music, vendors, and free games for families to enjoy.

One of their sponsors, the Gautier Men’s Club, cooked 1,200 pounds of fried mullet this year.

The festival isn’t only about fun and enjoying great fried seafood, it’s about giving back to the community. Gautier Mullet and Music Festival Treasurer Guy Cagnolatti said, “It’s a win-win situation where we are able to provide a nice big family event in Gautier and at the same time, we raise money for our local charities who depend on contributions and support from the public.”

Last year, the festival raised more than $13,000 which was all given to charities in Jackson County.
