MSU’S Brent Rooker named Dick Howser Finalist

If MSU is to come out of the Super Regional, it will likely be on the back of Brent Rooker who was named a finalist for the Dick Howser Trophy earlier today.
The award is the equivalent to the Heisman Trophy in college football and will be given out during the College World Series.
Rooker is one of four players up for the prestigious honor, joining UNC’s JB Bukauskas, Louisville’s Brendan McKay, and Oregon State’s Jake Thompson.
Also Thursday was the announcement of Baseball America’s All-America teams, headlined by Rooker on the first team. Other in-state players earning recognition on the second team are Southern Miss sluggers Taylor Braley and Matt Wallner. They combined for 36 home runs in 2017.
