MSU WR/ D’Iberville alum Jaden Walley gaining pre-season recognition

There’s still nine more Saturdays until college football officially kicks off, however sports publications and analysts across the country are already making their predictions and releasing their rankings for the 2021 season.

One of the athlete’s recognized is none other than Mississippi State Wide Receiver and D’Iberville alum Jaden Walley who was named second-team pre-season All SEC by Phil Steele.

Walley is coming off a banner freshman season with the Bulldogs in which he was first named to the Freshman All-SEC Team and was later tabbed Second-Team Freshman All-America by the Athletic.

In 2020, Walley’s 48 receptions ranked third nationally among true freshmen.

He also broke a pair of MSU freshman records with 691 yards in a season and 176 yards in a single game, coming against rival Ole Miss.

Walley made clear on Twitter though, that he’s not settling for second team All -SEC, he’s “working for first team.”
