MSU Plays Ole Miss Saturday in Oxford
Tomorrow in college football is widely known as Rivalry Day and it is no different in the Magnolia State.
Saturday, the Mississippi State Bulldogs will be in Oxford to face off against the Ole Miss Rebels for the 113th Egg Bowl.
Both teams have had less than stellar seasons, but that doesn’t mean the game means any less. This is for bragging rights, bragging rights not only on those school’s campuses, but also in some Gulf Coast households.
For one Coast home divided, the game puts son versus mother. Sally and Zachary Gill are part of a house divided. Zachary said, “It’s awful because my older brother went to State and now I go to Ole Miss. It’s very different because I’m obviously cheering for the better team than for the lower one. We’re going up there. I tailgate at Ole Miss. We have a tent that we’re going to go and hopefully she doesn’t wear maroon.” Sally said, “I will be wearing maroon.”
Ole Miss took home the Golden Egg last year. This year’s game starts at 2:30 in Oxford.
