MSDH reports 3,850 new COVID-19 cases statewide
Today, MSDH is reporting an additional 3,850 cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 17 deaths.
All 17 deaths occurred between August 14th and September 1st. Mississippi’s total of COVID-19 cases is now 443,511 with 8,507 deaths.
Among cases and deaths already reported, MSDH has identified 16 additional COVID-19 cases in residents of long-term care facilities and no additional deaths.
Current outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities have fallen to 157.
Third vaccine doses are now available through county health departments for those who qualify.
MSDH is also reporting the percentage of residents in each county who have received at least one dose of the vaccine:
- Harrison County-41 percent
- Hancock County-32 percent
- Jackson County-46 percent
- George County-35 percent
- Stone County-40 percent
- Pearl River County-35 percent
