MSDH reporting large spike in COVID-19 cases

The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting a spike in reported COVID-19 cases today.

The latest daily total released by the department says there are 641 new COVID-19 cases and five new deaths statewide compared to 219 cases and 10 deaths reported yesterday.

Regarding the delta variant of the virus, locally, Harrison County has reported two cases of the strain so far. Jackson County has one case. Stone has one case as well as of yesterday.
