MSDH launches infant mortality campaign
JACKSON, Miss. (WXVX)- State health officials are launching a campaign to combat infant mortality in Mississippi.
The ‘Saving the Smallest’ campaign begins Friday, which happens to be Maternal Health Awareness Day.
Over 5,000 babies were born preterm in Mississippi in 2024, a similar rate to the one in 2023.
This new program will give expectant mothers more information on maternal health, including highlighting the importance of prenatal care, safe sleep practices, infant nutrition guidelines, and more.
