MSDH encourages students and teachers to get COVID-19 vaccine

The Mississippi State Department of Health is in the beginning stages of getting COVID vaccines into schools for students and teachers.

The determination of if students and teachers have to wear masks in the classroom for the upcoming fall depends on the number of vaccinated children and staff in the school district.

MSDH encourages parents not to wait to get their child vaccinated. Right now, children 12 and older can receive the Pfizer vaccine with parental consent.

MSDH is planning for more school and school-based vaccination efforts.
