Ms. Senior USA Crowning

After being crowned Ms. Senior Universe 2018, Sherry Strother was on-hand at the Hard Rock Casino to crown two Ms. Senior USA hopefuls, including Ms. Senior Mississippi.

Following a second place finish in the Ms. Senior USA pageant, Biloxi resident Sherry Strother won the Ms. Senior Universe Pageant in Las Vegas last year. The former Miss Texas winner has competed in pageants her entire life and is honored to wear the crown of Ms. Senior Universe. “It’s a culmination of my life, of years being involved in the beauty and fashion industry for over 35 years. Just being Ms. Senior Universe I’m still on cloud nine, I can’t believe it.”

Wearing her sash and crown proudly, Strother hosted the crowning event of two Ms. Senior USA participants for 2019. Ms. Super Senior Virginia was crowned and she will be participating in Ms. Super Senior USA, a pageant for women ages 75 and older.

For the Ms. Senior USA Pageant, the pageant for women ages 60 to 74, Barbara Travis of Flowood, Mississippi was crowned Ms. Senior Mississippi. “The opportunity to represent women my age and encourage other women and support other women through this type of organization is wonderful,” said Travis.

With many of the past pageant winners coming from the south, event organizers proposed the Gulf Coast as the site of the Ms. Senior Universe Pageant in November. “What better place to bring Ms. Senior Universe than here. We have everything to offer. We have the beautiful casinos. We have the water, the food, the hospitality, the people here are fabulous,” said Strother.

While the Ms. Senior USA Pageant will be held in Las Vegas this June, the Hard Rock Casino will have their eyes on the Ms. Senior Universe Pageant this November.
