MS Secretary Of State On Coast Today

Mississippi Secretary Of State Delbert Hoseman is on the Coast today. Hoseman is expected to address the millions of budget cuts recently made to the state’s budget. He was set to address the Rotary Club at Great Southern Club starting at noon.
Earlier this week, Governor Phil Bryant announced the fifth round of cuts in the past fourteen months.
Bryant announced $43 million dollars in cuts, saying tax collections remain short of expectations.
The cuts represent just under a one percent reduction for most agencies.
Bryant also announced he is moving $7 million out of the state’s rainy day fund, saying without that cuts would be larger.
