MS Holds First Second Amendment Tax Free Holiday

This past weekend, Mississippi celebrated its first Second Amendment Tax Free Holiday, and businesses say it was a huge success.

Last week, News 25 checked in with Dad’s Super Pawn in Gulfport as they were getting ready for the holiday. Monday, Dad’s Super Pawn reports they sold almost 500 guns this past weekend, breaking records for the store while getting residents ready for hunting season.

Kevin Riley, the owner of Dad’s Super Pawn, says, “It was great for the consumer. We had a great weekend. It was a record for us. We moved out close to 500 firearms this weekend, sold a lot of hunting rifles, a lot of hunting ammunition. It was all about the sportsman this weekend and I tell you what, we thank everybody, we thank all the customers.”

Dad’s Super Pawn and other stores held extended hours this past weekend to give customers more time to take advantage of the holiday.
