MS Gulf Coast Job and Resource Fair

Biloxi NAACP, East Biloxi Community Collaborative, and Goodwill Industries of South Mississippi hosted a job and resource fair.

Many gathered inside the coliseum, browsing from table to table in hopes of securing a job.

Over 27 employers were set up, some waiting to hire people on the spot. Twenty-five community resource centers were also set up informing people about community engagement opportunities.

The Job and Resource Fair provided businesses with a chance to find, attract, and engage qualified individuals that have the skills to fill current or future roles. Goodwill Chief Workforce and Economic Development Officer Kimberly Hall said, “Our focus was really how do we create a space where we find employers that have great jobs, livable wage jobs, bring them all together as well as bringing the community together to receive these kinds of resources.”

Marion Vincent with Women in Construction said, “We believe this is great opportunity to reach a very diverse group of people, it has a great response. This is a great location and there are lots of job opportunities out here.”

COVID-19 tests, vaccines, housing assistance, and expungement assistance were also available at the job and resource fair.
