MS Gulf Coast Chamber hosted 2022 annual meeting

Today the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce held their 2022 annual meeting at the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Biloxi.

During the event, the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce president’s gavel was passed from Ron Barnes of Coast Electric Power Association to Sam Sandoz of Hancock Whitney.

An overview of all the chamber accomplished in 2021 was shared with guests. Last year, the chamber had more than $37,000 in small business grants, $14,000 in city division scholarships, and funded $1,000 in Leadership Gulf Coast scholarships.

At the end of the meeting, the Pat Santucci Spirit of the Coast award was presented to Anthony Wilson, chairman, president, and CEO of Mississippi Power and an active leader in the community. “It’s a great honor to do it. I couldn’t believe all the past recipients that were standing here just a few moments ago, they have accomplished great things in their personal careers, but especially their service to the Gulf Coast and I just feel very proud to be a part of that group of people.”

Wilson has led numerous nonprofit, business, and community organizations, making a significant and lasting impact in economic development, education, and the overall quality of life for the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
