MS Dept. of Public Safety brings mobile license express unit to Gulfport

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- The Mississippi Department of Public Safety’s new mobile license express unit returned to the Gulf Coast Community Ministries Thursday morning.

The Gulf Coast Community Ministries was one of their first locations and it was a huge hit for the community.

Applications were available to fill out and licenses were printed on site as new state IDs are $17 and a new drivers license for four years is $24.

The Mobile License Express unit allowed residents to access essential DMV services such as renewing or obtaining a driver’s license or state ID without having to travel to a physical DMV location.

Additionally, during the event, the mobile clinic from Coastal Family Health Center was on site seeing patients and also the food pantry and clothing closet for homeless adults was open providing vital support.
