Mississippi Athletic Trainers Symposium

When you hit the playing field after an injury, they’re usually the first ones at your aid. This week, they are learning from each other on the Coast.
The Mississippi Athletic Trainers Association is having their conference for the ninth consecutive year at the IP Casino and Resort. Well over 100 athletic trainers, physicians and vendors will be hearing from top professionals across Mississippi and surrounding states in the field of athletic training.
By weeks end, Jeff Bryant, the association’s president, hopes athletic trainers on hand come away with new knowledge on how to better serve the athletes they treat every day. “We have to have a certain criteria of educational units to maintain our certification and license throughout the state. This brings us all together to learn all the new advancements that are going on as far as athletic injuries and how to assess those injuries and evaluate them and treat those injuries.”
The association is also having a blood drive at the IP coinciding with their conference.
