Movers with Moms donation drive giving back to local organizations

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- This initiative we’re about to tell you about has gone on for a couple of years now and it’s back in full force as we approach Mother’s Day.

Emily Sham with Two Men and a Truck is here to tell us how you can give back this year through Movers for Moms.

This community initiative will support the Gulf Coast Center for Nonviolence and the Women’s Resource Center. The Gulf Coast Center for Nonviolence opened as a safe house in 1977 to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and has since grown to be the largest, most comprehensive program in the state of Mississippi.

The campaign will run through May 6th and donations will help provide essential items like diapers, baby wipes, clothing, baby care products and household necessities to families across Mississippi facing domestic violence and unexpected pregnancies.

This year, Two Men and a Truck Gulf Coast has a goal to collect a total of 10,000 items for the Gulf Coast Center for Nonviolence and the Women’s Resource Center.
