Movers for Moms: Collecting items for Mother’s Day

The moving company ‘Two Men and a Truck’ is gathering items for their annual Movers for Moms event.

During the donation drive, they collect items for the Gulf Coast Center for Nonviolence to give to moms in need on Mother’s Day.

They’re asking for all new items and need things like personal hygiene products and toiletries. The shelters most requested item this year is laundry detergent.

The Center for Nonviolence has more than 20 collection sites across the Coast.  Sales and Marketing Manager Emily Sham said, “We have a full list on our Facebook page of all the locations you can drop off these items to. Our office on 49 in Gulfport obviously is a great option as well, but every location will have box so you can drop off these goodies. Then, we go in one of our big trucks to all of the drop off locations and  pick up the items and take them to the shelter.”

The deadline to donate is Thursday, May 15th so they can have the items at the shelter on Mother’s Day.
