Motorcycle pursuit ends in arrest, multiple felony charges in George County

A pursuit of a motorcycle driving without a license plate led to the arrest of a George County man who faces multiple felony charges.
George County Sheriff Mitchell Mixon said 45-year-old Ronnie Lee Moye II of Lucedale was arrested late Saturday and charged with felony fleeing, malicious mischief, felony possession and resisting arrest. He also faces several misdemeanor charges including no tag, reckless driving, driving with a suspended license and no insurance. He also had four outstanding warrants with the Sheriff’s Office and a failure to appear in court with Lucedale Police. He was taken to the George County jail and is awaiting an initial appearance.
Moye also is on probation with the Mississippi Department of Corrections for a prior felony charge.
Mitchell said on Saturday, about 11:13 p.m., deputies saw a motorcycle turning onto Highway 98 and saw that it did not have a tag.
While following the motorcycle, it sped along Highway 63, reaching speeds in excess of 100 mph. Deputies pursued the motorcycle and at the onramp to Highway 98, the motorcycle hit a Sheriff’s vehicle, causing damage to the driver’s side. Moye then tried to flee on foot and was taken into custody.
