Mother of Slain Son Speaks Out

Trevues Martin was killed back in September and though the suspected gunman is behind bars, Martin’s mother is still struggling to find peace as she faces threats and bullying in her own neighborhood.
Tatasha Martin tells News 25 that last Thursday a woman came to her house. After asking her to leave the property, Martin says the woman claimed to be responsible for the death of her son. Martin brandished a firearm. The woman left, only to return later with a male friend who fired a shot outside of the home.
Although Martin claims she’s complied with authorities, a warrant has been issued for Martin’s arrest. “She came in my yard, threatening me. She told me specifically, ‘I killed your son.’ What is a mother supposed to do? I went to the jail that day and everything. What got me out was I had no forensics on my hand because she lied. They just told me to come down there, turn myself in and stuff like that. I have to turn myself in because I don’t want to be running here and the police come and I get arrested in front of my child,” said Martin.
Martin tells News 25 she plans to turn herself in.
