Mother and Daughter Rescued in Jackson County

An amazing story of resilience and survival as a mother and daughter count their blessings after being rescued when a tubing trip went wrong.
Christy and her 10-year-old Breanna were tubing down CC Creek with three other people when the storm separated them. One family friend got a call from her son, one of the tubers, around 9 last night saying he did not where anyone was. That’s when Lauraleigh Bang called the police and multiple agencies searched all night to find the rest of the group.
The other two adults managed to reach land but Christy and her daughter were nowhere to be found. Around sunrise this morning, the 10-year-old, nicknamed “Country”, took matters into her own hands. “He said the reason he saw ‘em, Breanna had her life jacket in her hand and was waving it over her head and I said, ‘That’s Country, that’s her.’ We heard it over the radio. I said, ‘That’s her, she knew exactly what to do,’” said Bang.
The family could not express how thankful they were to all law enforcement agencies involved in the rescue.
