Moss Point’s Earl Sanders named to the College Baseball Hall of Fame!
We’ve got huge news for the city of Moss Point as former Tiger Earl Sanders has been selected to the College Baseball Hall of Fame. A member of the Moss Point graduating class of 1983, Earl Sanders was a dual-sport athlete playing both baseball and basketball for the River City.
After graduation, Sanders was a competitor both on the mound at the plate for Jackson State University where he was named a two-time All American and the Southwestern Athletic Conference Hitter and Pitcher of the Year. After three seasons with JSU, Sanders was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the first round of the 1986 MLB draft.
Unfortunately, Sanders was faced with a career ending shoulder injury after seven years in the show. Sanders didn’t let the injury affect his love for the game, currently in his 11th season as the Tougaloo Head Baseball Coach.
From the inaugural Hall of Fame class at Moss Point high school to the College Baseball Hall of Fame class, congratulations to the 2025 inductee, Earl Sanders!
