Moss Point’s dream season falls short in 4A State Championship Game

Coming into Thursday’s state championship game, 32 minutes is all that separated Moss Point from its first 4A crown in school history.

If only it had been that easy to start the countdown against Ripley. Lady Tigers versus Lady Tigers in a battle for the gold ball.

Absolutely incredible season for Moss Point, but in the end, it is Ripley ripping up those dreams of hoisting a gold ball. Ripley wins 37-30 from Oxford.

Moss Point Girls Basketball Senior Captain Robyn Lee has been named one of two C-Spire Scholar Athlete Award winners for the Class 4A State Championship game.

Lee shares the honor with Ripley’s Summer Kirkman which was awarded to the two standouts prior to tip-off.

For the season, Lee averaged 20 points, six rebounds, two assists, and three steals per game en route to the program’s first-ever state title game appearance.
