Moss Point two percent restaurant tax does not pass
Moss Point residents went to the polls today to vote on a two percent restaurant tax throughout the city.
Residents of Moss Point did not pass the new tax with a vote of 49.14 percent for and 50.68 percent against. 8.9 percent of Moss Point residents voted in this election.
Mayor King is quoted as saying: “We win some, we lose some, but we are not stopping here. Hopefully this will be not the last time we hold this election and next time we do. We will do a better job in educating the community in our process. I also want to say thank you to everyone who came out to vote.”
