A 16-year-old Moss Point teenager is charged as an adult with attempted murder and making terrorist threats.

Jackson County Sheriff John Ledbetter says on May 22nd, Jaden Maples called the Waffle House on Highway 63 and threatened to shoot the customers and employees inside.

The victim, a Moss Point man, was inside the restaurant and left driving down the highway. The sheriff says that’s when Maples repeatedly rammed the vehicle of the man. When the victim’s car wrecked, the victim got out and started running away. The sheriff says Maples shot at the victim several times.

Maples was arrested Thursday, May 30th after investigators and members of the emergency service unit served a search warrant at his house. They found several firearms and ammunition in his bedroom.

County Court Judge Mark Watts denied Maples bond during a court hearing Friday.
