Moss Point Police Thank Assisting Agencies After Missing Child Safely Recovered

MOSS POINT, Miss (WXXV) – The Moss Point Police Department is expressing sincere gratitude to multiple assisting agencies following the safe recovery of a six-year-old child who wandered away from his residence on Valley Street.

Police Chief Dennis Stevenson thanked the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, Jackson County Fire Department, Pascagoula Police Department, Pascagoula Fire Department, Mississippi Department of Marine Resources, and the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks for their swift response and coordinated efforts during the search.

For several hours, law enforcement and emergency personnel worked side by side in a unified and determined search operation. Through professionalism, teamwork, and a shared commitment to public safety, the child was located and safely returned home to his family.

“This situation highlights the importance of strong partnerships between public safety agencies and the shared commitment we all have to protecting and serving our communities,” said Chief Stevenson. “The willingness of each agency to respond quickly and work together demonstrates the true meaning of public service.”

The City of Moss Point and the child’s family expressed deep appreciation for the compassion, dedication, and support shown by all responding personnel.
