Moss Point officer fired after allegedly stealing from a suspect
The Moss Point officer placed on administrative leave after allegedly stealing from a suspect has been fired.
The termination came after the mayor and board of alderman met in executive session last night to discuss the matter.
As we reported yesterday, Moss Point Police Chief Brandon Ashley was tipped off by another agency that the officer had taken something from a suspect’s bag during the booking process.
An internal investigation is underway.
The Jackson County District Attorney’s Office and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation are also investigating, but so far, no word on any charges.
