Moss Point Lady Tigers one win away from 4A title

Moss Point’s magic number is down to just one following its semifinal win over Pontotoc on Monday.

The Lady Tigers continue to make history on their first-ever run to the 4A State Title Game which tips off at 5 p.m. Thursday from Oxford against Ripley.

Led by Louisiana Tech signee Robyn Lee and her 56 points over the last two games, the Lady Tigers are ready to go all-in against the same team that knocked them out in last year’s Final Four. Moss Point Head Coach Ethan Porter said, “I kind of told them a lot of people probably didn’t expect this out of us again. They had five or six other teams ranked above us in 4A. And I told them from here on out that’s what we’re doing, we’re playing with house money. We can keep winning as long as we want to keep winning, or we could lose and nobody is going to look at us and think this season was a disappointment.”

Last year’s loss to Ripley was a 45-39 defeat in the semifinals.
