Moss Point home invasion leaves one dead

Moss Point police have identified the teenager who was shot and killed Sunday morning after a reported home invasion on Frederick Street.

Authorities say the owner, 25-year-old Michael Richardson Jr., reported seeing an unknown person knock at his door and leave in a grey Toyota Camry.

Richardson armed himself after hearing a noise and then heard a male voice saying ‘Nobody’s home’ and the front door burst open and two suspects ran inside towards him.

Richardson fired at both suspects who were later identified as 18-year-old Titus Kelly Jr. of Ocean Springs and 19-year-old Antonio Jackson of Gulfport. Kelly was pronounced dead on scene.

Jackson fled on foot and was brought to Singing River Hospital in a grey Toyota Camry and dropped off with gunshot wounds to the chest. He was taken into surgery and later airlifted to USA Hospital in Mobile where he is listed in serious condition.

The case is still under investigation and no charges have been filed against Richardson at this time.
