Moss Point fire rating lowered

Good news for Moss Point homeowners, insurance premiums may be going down following the fire department’s hard work to get the fire rating lowered to a class five.

The drop from a class six, which the city has been at for more than 40 years, to a class five has a direct impact on lowering home owner’s and business’ insurance premiums.

The fire department has been working on lowering the rating for the past four years.

With continued support from city leaders, a class four rating could be accomplished by this time next year.
