Moss Point community holds rally and pop-up shop to stop violence

Boss’d up Women teamed up with Moss Point resident Genesis Wess to host the inaugural ‘Stop the Violence’ Rally.

The event was held to promote an end to violence and to bring more love in the Gulf Coast communities.

The pop-up shop hosted a variety of vendors and businesses that support the movement as well as a free backpack and school supply giveaway for students.

The rally even hosted entertainment such as dancers and motivational speeches.

The organizers are creating other ways to help end violence as well such as non-profit organizations that promote their cause. Wess said, “What we’re doing is we understand that our kids are losing their lives too early. We’re losing our future politicians, we’re losing our future judges, future firemen. We’re losing our future. So, what we’re coming together to do is to try to show love and our slogan is we do all things in love and what we’re trying to do is come together and do things in love and bring people out.”

Organizers hope to continue their fight against violence.
