Moss Point calling on skilled labor volunteers
The City of Moss Point is rebuilding — but with any process it has setbacks.
Paige Roberts, the volunteer and donations coordinator for Moss Point, is calling on skilled labor volunteers to help clean up debris and trash.
She is also asking for help repairing holes left in residents’ roofs.
While food and water are appreciated, there is a more urgent need to clean and restore the streets of Moss Point, this includes helping with repairs and donating or other tools for clean up.
Roberts said skilled labor is the most critical need.
“The only volunteer needs we have are the people with Chainsaw experience and putting on tarps and moving big equipment to move big piles of debris in demolished houses while not having a declaration, so not having money to pay for that kind of thing at this point, but relying on volunteers.”
Even if you don’t have the skills needed but would like to still be involved, Roberts says you can help by donating to the Rebuild Moss Point Fund at any Merchants and Marine Bank.
